Mental Health Services
Hillside Manor has two secured mental health units, one for men and one for women, to provide mental health services to those age 30 years old and above.
We conduct Genesight DNA testing to determine which psychiatric medication will best control our mental health resident’s disease according to each individual’s DNA results.
We provide a Level System Program so residents can graduate from the locked unit and eventually transition back out into the community.
Our staff are specially trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure everyone’s continued safety and security.
Dementia and Memory Care Unit
Hillside Manor has an open unit for beginning and end stage Dementia, and a secured unit for residents who wander and are at risk for elopement.
Our team of dedicated professionals is trained in all stages of dementia care as well as Crisis Prevention Intervention and Hand in Hand training developed by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
In our Dementia and Memory Care Unit, residents enjoy a home-like environment. A designated activities professional offers our residents opportunities to participate in a wide variety of events. Our staff stresses the importance of daily activity for all residents, while giving just the right amount of assistance to allow each resident to live every moment to the fullest.
Skilled Therapy Services
Physical therapists focus on movement including bed mobility, transferring from the bed to a chair or toilet, walking, using stairs and wheelchair mobility. They also work with residents to decrease pain and improve strength, endurance, balance and range of motion.
Occupational therapists help residents become more self-sufficient by retraining them in daily activities, increasing endurance and strength. They also teach residents how to protect their muscles and joints.
Speech-language pathologists evaluate and treat residents for hearing, language, communication and swallowing disorders. The focus is on improving speech-language expression, comprehension and oral motor skills for speech and safe eating.
We know that family members who are care providers need a break from time to time to restore their energy and ensure that their health does not suffer from caring for a loved one. Our professional staff can take over your loved one’s care while you take a rest. Whether it’s for several days or several weeks, we will provide care in your absence.
We understand that end-of-life care may be difficult to discuss, however, it is best for family members to share their wishes long before it becomes a concern. If those decisions include hospice care, Hillside Manor ensures quality of life and comfort.
We understand that admission day can be a difficult time, both for new residents and their families. Our process is designed to make the moving experience as comfortable as possible. Hillside Manor accepts admissions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Many forms of payment are accepted including Medicare, Medicaid/Medicaid Pending, Advantra GHP, and private insurance.
To make the transition easier, please bring the following documentation:
- Medicare and / or Medicaid card
- Secondary insurance card
- Living will and / or power of attorney
- Emergency contact information
- Funeral home and burial information
It has been our experience that bringing a few personal items can make a new resident more comfortable. We suggest bringing several changes of comfortable clothing, family photographs, books, and other personal items to help the resident feel at home. Please label all personal belongings.
Remember, our staff is always here to help. Please call our admissions department to discuss any concerns before and after admission.
It is the admission policy of Hillside Manor that residents will be admitted, have their rooms assigned, and receive patient services without regard to race, color, national origin, disability, or age.
